  The Girl Who Loves Roses film is our short documentary, directed by sisters Rémy and Kelsey Bennett about the artist Panteha Abareshi. The video tells Panteha’s story and highlights her artistic process. Panteha’s battles Sickle Cell Beta Zero Thalassemia, a genetic disease that causes her chronic pain and physical limitations. In the fall of 2014, the condition took a drastic turn and led to her frequent hospitalization for long periods of time. She began to channel her energy into illustration.

  The video is the first in a series profiling a selection of female artists and shining a light on the importance that art plays in women’s lives as a form of self-expression and connection.
